Open Water is a water brand that was started by two people who hated the bottled water industry…namely, the billions of plastic bottles getting pumped into existence every second of every day. To do things differently, we pioneered the canned water category. From day 1, Open Water’s products were designed to be the most sustainable on the planet: from sourcing, to packaging, to giving back.

ºNo beverage packaging in existence is 100% plastic free. Open Water (like all metal packaging) uses a very thin liner that prevents corrosion. As part of our regular bottled water quality testing, we screen the finished product for plasticizers such as phthalates and adipates, which are commonly associated with flexible plastics and liners. These compounds were not detected (ND) in our water. This proves that our liners are not measurably leaching plasticizers into the water under normal use conditions. We also conduct targeted testing for other substances of concern, including PFAS, which were also not detected. Please reach out for a full water report.
